EMDR Consultation for Licensed Clinicians
“If you’re not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you’re determined to learn, no one can stop you.” ~Unknown
Why EMDR Consultation Matters
You’ve completed your EMDR basic training-maybe even advanced trainings-and you’re starting to use twos powerful modality with clients.
But if you’re like many EMDR clinicians, you’ve probably discovered that knowing the protocol and applying it in real-world sessions are often very different things.
That’s where EMDR consultation comes in. Whether you are newly trained or an experienced therapist looking to refine your work, consolation provides a space for growth, clarity and support.

EMDR Therapy Consultation Enhances Your…
-
We will dive deep into the understanding of all 8 phases and how to adapt when needed. Fine tuning your technique will ensure you are applying the most effective interventions with your clients.
-
being able to ask questions in a shame free zone, allows you to get the answers you have been looking for. Which then allows you to use these skills in session with confidence
-
staying updated on research and exploring other strategies, you will address any challenges or blocks that you are seeing. This will allow your client to experience the healing they are looking for.
-
We know that burnout is a real thing. You are doing hard and healing work with your clients. Consultation is a place to work through the challenges you see so you are managing your stress as the clinician.
-
the modality is the canvas but you are the painter. Your clients need your unique energy in the room with them. EMDR can feel very robotic at first so the goal is to find your way to explaining it and using it in your office while adhering to the fidelity of the model.
I want to help you learn to thrive using EMDR in your practice!
Consultation with me looks like:
-
Honest & Constructive Feedback
whether it is on a case or just a question about the process, I am committed to sharing what I know with you. This is a judgement free space to learn and grow. Questions and curiosities are an important part of learning this modality, so ask away!
-
Openness to Learning
There are things that you know that I don't and vice versa. This is a place where we can share with each other what we have learned to find the best strategies for your clients. I believe that we should always be learning as we evolve- let's do it together!
-
Celebrate the Wins
Investing the time to deepen your knowledge is a huge win! We will keep the celebration going from here. Every step, deepened understanding or clarity of the process is a reason to celebrate. This provides us fuel to do the hard work with your clients.
Why invest in EMDR Consultation?
The protocol is just the beginning. EMDR is more than the eight phases and a set of eye movements. Consultation helps you deepen your understanding of case conceptualization, when and how to adapt the standard protocol, and how to integrate EMDR with other modalities like IFS, Brainspotting and other attachment-based therapy.
You work with complex trauma. Text book cases are rare. You are likely working with clients may- not have clear memories, experience dissociation, chronic trauma , medical issues, complicated grief and more.
Increase your confidence. It is common to feel uncertain when you are learning something new. You might have felt lost, confused and like you are unsure where to start. In consultation, you get reassurance, education and grounded feedback to help you feel more secure in your clinical choices.
Feeling alone sucks. Let’s be real for a moment. Many therapists feel unsure about discussing where they feel stuck or unsure out of fear of “not doing right,” or feeling judged. This leaves you feeling alone and not using this therapy that you worked hard to learn. Consultation offers a supportive, nonjudgemental space to ask questions, explore the stuck points and grow your clinical voice.

A little bit about my EMDR knowledge:
I know what it is like to….
not have a great consultation experience. To feel like I could not ask the questions I needed to ask and to feel defeated as a result. So when I decided to become a consultant, I decided to create a difference experience for the clinicians that I work with.
I want you using this amazing tool in your practice and to feel confident while doing so.
I continue to seek consultation myself and have several advanced trainings that include topics like:
Structural Dissociation with Sarah Jenkins
RTEP/GTEP with Juile Russamano
Early Childhood Preverbal Trauma with Katie O’Shea
Attachment Trauma with Deany Lalitotis
Polyvagal Training with EMDR with Rebecca Kase
Decoding Complex Developmental Trauma using EMDR Therapy Part 1 & 2 with Susie Morgan
Level 1 IFS training with the IFS Institute
Treating Complex Trauma with EMDR Therapy and Structural Dissociation Theory
I use and incorporate aspects of these trainings into my consultation and my own practice.
I am also a Basic Training Facilitator and Consultant for Precision EMDR Academy. This has allowed me to continue to learn and grow my own skills in the therapy setting as well as a consultant.
